Since the LoFric catheter was introduced in 1983 we have continued to collabroate closely with users and healthcare staff to make refinements when needed.
LoFric's documentation for intermittent catheterization remains both the most extensive and long-term than any other catheter on the market.
Conducting long-term studies is vital since injuries associated with CIC do not tend to make themselves apparent until after several years. The LoFric catheter studies have produced very positive results, especially when used for long periods of time (approx. ten years). Comparative studies using ordinary catheters with gel tell a very different story. In patients using these catheters, urethral strictures and inflammations are common.
