This cross-section of the male anatomy shows the location of the bladder, the prostate gland and the urethra. In men, the urethra is not only intended for urination, it is also the passage along which semen (sperm from the testes and secretions from the prostate gland) passes during ejaculation. The male urethra is over 6 inches long and opens at the tip of the penis.
