Insurance coverage for LoFric catheter products varies by state and by insurance plan.
Most people are eligible for at least one of the LoFric catheter products under their insurance plan.
Once you have a prescription for LoFric, just contact a homecare supplies dealer or pharmacy to order the product you want. The homecare supplies dealer or pharmacy will then check to be sure you are covered for that product.
Medicaid Coverage
Many state Medicaid programs provide coverage for LoFric catheter products. To see if your Medicaid insurance covers LoFric, contact your homecare supplies dealer or a LoFric distributor once you have a prescription for LoFric. They will be able to find out whether your particular Medicaid plan covers LoFric products.
Medicare Coverage
If you are covered under Medicare, you may be eligible to receive the LoFric Ready-Kit, the LoFric straight catheter with sterile insertion supplies, or the LoFric coude catheter. Certain medical criteria must be met.
Your homecare dealer, or a LoFric distributor, will be able to check with your physician or nurse to be sure you meet these criteria.
The medical necessity for use of sterile catheterization for reasons other than the criteria required may be presented for individual consideration.

Private Insurance Plans
Many private insurance plans offer coverage for LoFric catheter products. Your homecare supplies dealer will be able to look into this for you, or else you may call one of the LoFric distributors listed under "Where to get LoFric" to look into this once you have a prescription for LoFric.
