How do I tell other people about my child?
Of course, some people will wonder what it is like to be the parent of a child with bladder emptying problems. Some will ask you, while others will wonder in silence. How much should you tell as a parent, and what should you tell? Should you, for example, tell people about catheterization?

Naturally, it is up to you to decide what you feel comfortable about telling. Even small children have a right to integrity, privacy and respect. But sometimes you will need to explain, especially for the person who in some manner will be participating in the procedure of emptying your child's bladder.

School staff often times are needed to aid in a child's self-catheterization process but might not know how or be familiar with the proper steps.  It is this reason we have created a brochure for any school staff member that might need to participate or aid your child throughout the process. We have provided a link below that will guide and give key pointers to keep in mind before, during, and after so everyone involved is comfortable and confident.
